In May, Lee and Hallie had the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day in the store and travel to Sydney to attend the Naturally Good Expo. Australia’s leading trade event for natural, organic, and sustainable products.
It was a fantastic couple of days filled with valuable connections both with existing partners and exciting new producers from Australia and New Zealand. They explored current market trends, gained insight into evolving industry regulations, and discovered some uniquely conscious brands that we hope to welcome in-store soon.
We asked Lee and Hallie to share a few reflections from their time at the expo:
What was your highlight of the Naturally Good Expo?
Lee: It was definitely building connections and relationships with both existing and new suppliers, while also gaining deeper insight into the industry—especially when it comes to regulations and emerging trends. There’s lots of exciting things happening in the industry!
Hallie: Perfectly put Lee. My highlight was seeing so many new brands and products that align with everything we’re about here at Down to Earth. It was great to meet the founders too, who were all so passionate about their products.
Is there a brand that you are excited to see on our shelves?
Lee: That's a tough one - there are so many incredible brands out there. One that really stood out was Food to Nourish. We had a great chat with Danielle, the founder, whose passion and knowledge truly shone through. She’s built a brand focused on the cleanest ingredients, and her sprouted nut butters and protein cookies were super impressive.
Hallie: I also loved Food to Nourish. The ingredients are what you would use if you were baking at home, and organic! I was excited to see the products on offer from Olive Green Organics too - a fantastic range of organic GF pastas, cereals and Good Fish.
Was there a special moment meeting the people behind the brands we already stock?
Hallie: I most enjoyed meeting Ere Perez - the founder of the clean and conscious skincare and makeup range Ere Perez. Her authenticity and passion for her products really shone through, along with her commitment to outstanding customer service. I’m looking forward to seeing her products on our shelves, especially the eye serum with the cooling jade roller.
It was so great to put a face to the names at the Sisuu and Loco Love stands - such beautiful brands!
Looking Ahead
We’re so glad Lee and Hallie could bring back not just samples and notes, but stories, relationships, and inspiration. The Naturally Good Expo reaffirmed so much of what we believe at Down to Earth.
We’re excited to share more of what’s to come in-store over the next few months, as some of these special finds hopefully make their way to our shelves.
