Q: What makes Mitchells Organic, Fermented Daily Greens different from other greens powders?

Most greens formulas focus on quantity over quality. Long ingredient lists can look impressive, but often you are getting very small amounts of each ingredient.

With Daily Greens, we were intentional. A specific selection of high quality greens, fermented to enhance nutrient availability, rather than minuscule amounts of dozens of ingredients.

Q: Why did you choose to ferment the greens?

Fermentation helps break down sugars and starches, making nutrients easier to absorb and foods easier to digest. During this process, beneficial microbes produce enzymes, probiotics and postbiotics that support gut health.

Fermented foods naturally contain a diverse range of microbes. That diversity matters. As microbial ecologist Dr. Jack Gilbert and others in the field have highlighted, the goal is not just to introduce large amounts of one strain (as with most probiotic supplements), but to support an environment where a diverse microbiome can thrive.

Q: You speak a lot about creating the right conditions for the microbiome. What does that mean in practice?

Our microbiome responds to our environment. That includes stress levels, how well we chew our food, whether we are constantly eating on the run, and even how much time we spend outdoors.

Whilst targeted probiotic strains can be helpful in certain cases, equally important is supporting the terrain. That means eating a diverse, fibre rich diet, minimising chronic stress, chewing properly, and including fermented foods regularly. Daily Greens was designed to be a simple way to do that.

Q: Why is Daily Greens a deep purple red instead of green once mixed?

It surprises people. The colour comes from the freeze dried blackcurrant and acerola berries. They have strong natural pigmentation which overrides the green once mixed.

We deliberately chose not to use artificial colouring. What you see in the glass reflects the real ingredients inside.

Q: What role do blackcurrant and acerola play in the formula?

Both are naturally rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Antioxidants help neutralise free radicals, reducing oxidative stress which is associated with ageing and many chronic conditions.

Vitamin C also supports collagen production, utilisation and helps prevent collagen breakdown. Alongside immune and inflammatory support, there is a skin health benefit too.

Q: Why is Daily Greens priced at a premium?

Quality ingredients, from the best source we could find, fermentation and careful formulation all come at a cost.

We could have reduced the price by adding fillers or cheaper raw materials, but that would not align with our ethos. We prioritise formulation, function and flavour equally. The goal is always to deliver a product that is effective and true to our standards.
