Our favourites for Dry July

Woohoo! We are two and a half weeks into Dry July so let’s celebrate and raise our glasses (filled with non-alcoholic goodness of-course), to the epic fundraising event that is Dry July.

Dry July is a free fundraiser that challenges you to go alcohol-free for the month of July to raise funds for people affected by cancer. It might seem like a little thing (or a big thing for some), whichever the case we applaud those getting behind this cause whatever the motivation.

Which brings us to our drink's fridge, flips and fizzes, vegetable concoctions, waters, dairy drinks, coffee, cocoa, sodas, teas, tonics, and infusions. We aren't one for bragging, but we are incredibly chuffed with our non-alcoholic beverage options here at Down to Earth Organics,

Here is a quick selection of some of our favourites, alongside our key reasons that make these beverages great alternatives for Dry July and beyond.

Enjoy.

Chia Sisters Immunity Tonic – one for the turmeric lovers. We recommend snuggling down on a grey evening and making this into a hot toddy styled drink by simply adding hot water. Take it as a morning shot and it will quickly sooth your throat and wake up those tastebuds or even pour over ice with sparking water for a zingy refresher.

Plantamate – from our Local Taranaki legend's Cathi and Issac. One of the main ingredients in this drink is the exotic Yerba mate leaf from the South American rainforest which is said to have the strength of coffee, (without the caffine crash) the health benefits of tea, and the euphoria of chocolate, enough said.

New Leaf Hopbucha – If you are a craft beer fan you will love Hop Bucha as a cold hoppy brew when the sun dips behind the horizon line. A four ingredient wonder that after careful fermentation transforms into a sparking and thirst-quenching elixir loaded with probiotics

Kefir Soda from The Wild Fermentary – wild, gut loving goodness. We love all the Kefir sodas from Wild Fermentary (especially this pretty blush one) and always have some in the fridge for unexpected guests and to sooth the effects of the sunshine. Kefir is a fermented drink with a sour tangy flavour making it a probiotic beverage, alive with billions of gut-loving bacteria. A favourite with our Naturopaths.

Arepa – we have been boasting about this one for a while now, our staff often have it after a coffee or before tackling our email inbox. L-theanine is the key ingredient as to why this beverage has ended up as a store favourite. L-Theanine is an amino acid and is most commonly used to support the treatment of mood, anxiety, high and high blood pressure. Tested by the majority of staff at Down to Earth Oragnics, this is one we whole heartedly recommend.

73 Citrus – we all need more sunshine, and this beverage is packed full of Liposomal Vitamin C. Pure sunshine disguised as sparkling orange juice, we can't decide if it's one for the medicine cabinet or the chilly bin.

New Leaf Flower Kombucha – we absolutely would not paint our walls this colour, but we would stock our fridge with this beautiful beverage. Not just another kombucha, New Leaf combines the beauty of flowers with the health of kombucha through fermentation. They ferment Butterfly Pea flowers to extract all their vibrant colour and natural goodness. High in antioxidants, this kombucha looks and tastes amazing.

Karma Cola – the classic, and much healthier replacement of the not so nice coca cola (coke). Although this one here does not have any standout ingredients or health benefits, the ingredients they do have are all organic and unrefined, so if you are going to grab a fizzy drink make sure it is one of these beauties.

Phew, we hope you aren't too parched. Happy Dry July community thank you for making a difference.

We are constantly on the lookout for products that YOU will love, if you have any suggestions of beverages, you would like us to stock, please do not hesitate to reach out.
