Thieves Oil is a blend of natural essential oils selected for their antibacterial, anti viral, cleansing, and protective qualities.
The name comes from a story told about some thieves who stole from the dead and dying during the plague (15th century). They successfully used spices and some other botanicals to protect themselves from infection.
Thieves oil blend contains the essential oils of Clove bud, Lemon, Cinnamon bark, Eucalyptus radiata and Rosemary.
It is not suitable for use with babies or young children or during pregnancy.
Uses Include:
- In a diffuser or oil burner to cleanse the air in the room and to aid the respiratory system
- As a spray mix at between 1 and 5 % and use as a sanitising spray, shaking frequently. (A hand sanitiser can be made with some of the essential oil blend diluted into a 50/50 mix of water and witchhazel.)
- It can be made into a dilution with a carrier oil eg almond, coconut, or olive oil etc and rubbed onto the body, the soles of the feet can be a very good place. ( try a very small area first - this patch testing is a good idea with essential oil mixes being applied to the skin. )
- A drop or two in water can make an excellent mouth wash or gargle.
Dilution Guide;
6 drops in 30ml of water or carrier oil makes a 1% mix.
