We would love you to tell us the story behind the creation of Webster's Tea?
Webster’s Tea began nine years ago, when my husband Mark returned from his OE travels in Canada. Back home and working in hospitality, he quickly realised that as a nation, we’d settled for dusty tea bags as the standard for a “good” cup of tea.
From humble beginnings in a little Tea Shed - where most weekends were spent at markets, meeting people and growing the Webster’s Tea community - the journey has taken us a long way. Nine years, two kids, a Tea Shop, and now five employees later (including me, Mrs Webster), you can enjoy Webster’s Tea in 170 cafés around the country, as well as in plenty of kitchens and pantries across New Zealand.

What inspired the name?
The naming process was a funny one. Sometimes we tend to over-complicate things when it comes to a name. There's a lot of pressure for the name to symbolise and represent your vision, and it wasn't until a good friend simply said "Why not use your last name?" that Webster's Tea was born - it's who we are. Simple, strong and we hope that one day our children will carry on our legacy.

What is your current favourite product and why?
Look, I should say I don't play favourites, but in the interest of being truthful to what you'll find in my mug each and every day my current rotation is English Breakfast with an alternation of Mānuka and Turmeric in the evenings. At the moment I'm on a bit of a health mission with my skin, so I'm trying to swap out my black tea habit with green tea - the known benefits of green tea for its antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and overall health benefits can't be denied.
